Set Realistic Goals
Trying to commit to hours in the gym probably isn't realistic to your daily fitness goals. Deciding you want to double your weight lifting or drop 20-pounds in a month isn't practical and sets you up to fail. Instead, make your goal about incrementally increasing the duration of your workout or adding an extra session into your week. The momentum of succeeding as you hit those smaller goals also keeps you striving for more.
Tie Working out to an Existing Habit
If you're struggling to make working out a habit, tie it to an existing one you do every day. For example, walk your dog and then immediately start your workout as soon as you get home. Or place your workout clothes next to your alarm and get dressed immediately after turning it off.
